In this first exhibition in the Pilar Serra gallery, Daniel Verbis dispels any doubts that there might be regarding painting, endorsing what he considers is his most radical characteristic: ambiguity. He presents us with a work that is suggestive and delicate, created “under the organic intention of encountering a body (another body, other bodies) but with the (geometric) need of precision, of composition”. And although the images that appear “will never manage to reconcile those extremes – the millimetric adjustment of what is entangled, the articulation of what is disordered, the insertion of what is confused – that impossible zeal, the meshing of the real, is anxiously manifested in the halting of the explosive desire of the form”,[…]
